Symphonic Dance Classics
In a new departure from their usual output of classical music, Mayo Concert Orchestra performed a night of dance classics as part of the sell-out Symphonic Dance concert, which took place in Claremorris Town Hall on December 27th. The 90s music style concert saw the orchestra follow the format of the Jenny Greene 2FM RTE Concert Orchestra gigs, complete with loud backing tracks, vocalists and DJ. The concert was conducted by Musical Director Kathy Fahy with special guest vocalists VOX and DJ Padraig Walsh. Orchestra members rehearsed up to 20 tracks for the concert, which proved a huge success, especially with young people.
